History & UAO // In Ukraine since 1996

In 1996, the All-Ukrainian Public Organization ‘Ukrainian Association of Osteoporosis’ (UAO) was created during the First Conference ‘Osteoporosis: Epidemiology, Clinics, Diagnostics, Prophylaxis and Treatment’ in order to solve modern scientific and practical problems of health care caused by the pathological conditions of bone tissue and interrelated systems: developing new methods of diagnostics, prophylaxis and treatment of osteoporosis and their implementation into the health care practice; raising Association members’ level of expertise and protecting their interests.

In 1998, the Ukrainian Association of Osteoporosis entered the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF).
