CONFERENCES 2017
During the recent years, all over the country, the Ukrainian Association of Osteoporosis and the Ukrainian EVIDAS (European Vitamin D Association) Chapter have been traditionally holding the scientific-practical conferences “Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency in the clinical practice”.
1.02.2017, Khmelnyk
5.04.2017, Kherson
6.04.2017, Mykolaiv
On January 31, 2017, there was a workshop “Global problem: Diagnostics and treatment of Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency. Alternatives for metabolic corrections” held in Vinnytsya, commemorating the 25th anniversary of Prof. O.O. Yakovleva’s teaching clinical pharmacology at M.I. Pyrogov Vinnytsya National Medical University.
In 2017, the scientific-practical conferences “Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency in the clinical practice” took place in Khmelnyk on February 1, in Kherson on April 5, in Mykolaiv on April 6, in Poltava on June 9.
Vitamin D deficiency is a burning nowadays problem. It is known that almost all over the world suboptimal Vitamin D levels are registered. Numerous studies show that Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency do not only affect the bone and muscular system but also serve as risk factors of acute and chronic diseases, namely autoimmune, cardiovascular, neurological, endocrine disorders.
The conferences gathering the leading experts on the problem reflect the mechanisms of development and Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency clinical manifestations, spread the long-standing practical experience and present the modern guidelines on these conditions’ correction, thus being a highlight event for various practitioners. That’s why it is no surprise that this cycle of conferences is held to full houses everywhere.
During the conferences, Prof. V.V. Povoroznyuk, Doctor of Medical Sciences, head of the Ukrainian EVIDAS (European Vitamin D Association) Chapter (Kyiv) presented his findings on Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency prevalence across the world and in Ukraine, on practical experience of the Ukrainian EVIDAS Chapter and modern guidelines on those conditions’ corrections. N.I. Balatska, Doctor of Medical Sciences, secretary of the Ukrainian EVIDAS Chapter (Kyiv), spoke on clinical manifestations of Vitamin D deficiency in variously-aged patients. Prof. V.I. Pankiv, Doctor of Medical Sciences (Kyiv), presented his study of Vitamin D status in connection with autoimmune thyroid diseases. N.I. Dzerovych, Doctor of Medical Sciences (Kyiv), highlighted Vitamin D’s relation to skeletal muscular tissue in the elderly patients, while M.A. Bystrytska, Candidate of Medical Sciences (Kyiv), spoke on Vitamin D’s association with neurological diseases. At the end of the conference, V.V. Povoroznyuk and N.I. Balatska held a master-class on Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency treatment algorithms.
The practical experience shared by the scientists urged a lively discussion and numerous questions. It proved the topicality of Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency and importance of conferences being held.
